Stunning English-made recreation of the 1936 Jaguar SS 100 sports car. This car is dimensionally correct to the original, and its entire running gear and suspension are from Jaguar. The Suffolk company in England started producing aesthetically accurate reproductions of the Jaguar SS100 in the early 2000s. These replicas are well respected and provide a very drivable, serviceable and affordable version of the $1,000,000 Jaguar SS100. The factory states the trim components are interchangeable with the original. Where the Suffolk cars depart from the original design is in the frame, drivetrain and suspension all of which are significantly better than what was available in the 1930s. This car is powered by a Jaguar 4.2 litre dual overhead cam inline 6 fed by two SU carburetors. This is backed up by a custom Tremec 5-speed from The Driven Man. The suspension is Jaguar as well with dual forged a arms in the front and the famous Jag 4 shock independent rear with inboard disc brakes. The lightweight coupled with the strength of the Jag inline 6 provides very spirited performance and the large vented Jaguar disc brakes provide excellent stopping ability. The interior is finished in a very similar manner to the original SS100. The car is equipped with a well made mohair cloth top and side curtains. It includes a rear luggage rack not shown in the pictures. The windscreen folds forward and is backed by dual racing screens. A full size chrome wire wheel spare is mounted on a carrier in the rear. The interior is exceptionally nice as you would expect from the miles. The seats are covered in a deep red leather. The paint is excellent and has obviously been well cared for. The main windscreen is cracked but it is a flat piece of glass.
